Terms of Use
简体中文Welcome to Curio (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using Curio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
Curio provides cross-category personal hobby records, item and inventory management, knowledge content, statistics and review tools, iCloud sync, historical backups, data import, and shareable works. The current release covers 13 hobby categories. Cigar and pipe are optional private archives that adult users must add themselves; Curio provides no purchasing, commerce, community distribution, or consumption recommendations for them. Available features are those shown in the version you use.
2. Age and acceptable use
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. You may not use Curio unlawfully, attack or circumvent its protections, redistribute it without permission, or infringe another person’s rights.
3. Your data and content
You own the content you create. Data is primarily stored on your device and in your private iCloud space, as described in the Privacy Policy. My → Complete Backup can export a .curiobackup containing structured records, portable preferences, and media referenced by active records. Protect your backups and original media, and do not send private backups to an untrusted recipient.
4. Free features and one-time in-app purchases
- Free: Run 2 hobbies at once. Adding items, photos, notes, and ratings, as well as complete history, basic statistics, iCloud sync, and complete backups remain free.
- Curio Plus: A one-time unlock for 5 active hobbies, personal profiles, trends, best records, change analysis, before-and-after comparisons, the complete share studio, the creator workbench, and complete monthly journals.
- Curio Lifetime: A one-time unlock for everything in Plus, unlimited active hobbies, the complete annual journal, and the option to hide the Curio mark when sharing.
- Lifetime Upgrade: Works only together with a valid Curio Plus purchase and upgrades Plus to Lifetime benefits. The upgrade product by itself does not grant Lifetime benefits.
All products are one-time, non-consumable purchases. They are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically. Product names, local prices, and taxes are those displayed by the App Store. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and may be recovered with Restore Purchases. Apple’s rules govern refunds, revocations, and transaction disputes. If the qualifying Plus transaction is refunded or revoked, an upgrade product by itself no longer qualifies for Lifetime benefits.
5. Responsibility for imports and sharing
You must have the right to import, keep, or share selected text, images, audio, video, official third-party exports, and other material. Curio organizes material you provide; it does not grant rights in third-party content. Do not use a shared work, backup, or export to violate privacy, copyright, trademark, or other legal rights.
6. Informational content and tools
Articles, references, parameter suggestions, caffeine estimates, OCR candidates, photography meter results, and statistical explanations are for personal recordkeeping and general information only. They are not medical, health, investment, legal, authentication, valuation, or purchasing advice. Metering and recognition depend on the device, conditions, and source material; verify results before relying on them. Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful. Use Curio responsibly and follow local law.
7. System dependencies and changes
iCloud, in-app purchases, Speech Recognition, Photos, Maps, Location Services, Journaling Suggestions, system search, and local notifications depend on Apple services, account status, network access, device support, and regional availability. Curio may adjust features for security, compliance, or product improvement, but it will not convert a completed non-consumable purchase into an auto-renewing subscription. The current product commitment keeps core records, complete history, sync, and complete backups free.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Curio is provided “as is.” The developer will reasonably maintain data compatibility and core features but cannot guarantee uninterrupted Apple or other third-party system services. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect loss caused by device failure, system-service interruption, accidental deletion, failure to back up, an incorrect recognition or meter result, or unlawful use. Mandatory legal rights still apply.
9. Changes and governing law
Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, except where mandatory consumer law in your place of residence applies.
